Honest truth…. I would rather wrangle three monkey children on multiple limbs and risk losing a clump of hair, than ask for help to untangle the shopping carts! What is that all about, right? Just to avoid the awkward ask. Welcome to Free Yourself Friday, friends.
Let me go first. I am the queen of pulling the SuperMom card, then wondering for 2 days why the heck I’m in bed exhausted! I’ll pack a day as tight as the Tupperware cupboard, until my hubby experiences a plastic meteor shower from heaven! His gift for time management and multi-tasking, is perfectly coupled with my ability to live off the time-zone grid, quite oblivious to the roast turning to coals in the oven.
Oh good grace, friends. It’s taken time. It’s taken patience. That’s on God’s part, I mean. My heart needs a lot of shaping! To move from, “I got this” to “You got this, God!”, takes humility and trust.
One lesson I’m learning is to embrace my limits. To not see my physical or emotional weaknesses as punishment, but as gracious protection. Just as boundaries offer clarity and health in relationships, knowing my personal limits gives me freedom. When I do ask for help for what is beyond my capacity, it channels my energy to what matters mosts and where my purpose lies.
So, what’s about you? Can you relate? Feel free to share a comment or question with us… it’s okay, we’re all friends here. I’ve so enjoyed connecting with many of you already. Thanks for reading along.
Have a beautiful weekend!
“So I went to the potter’s house, and sure enough, the potter was there, working away at his wheel. Whenever the pot the potter was working on turned out badly, as sometimes happens when you are working with clay, the potter would simply start over and use the same clay to make another pot.” Jeremiah 18:3-4 (The Message)
